SPECIAL REPORT ON THE
11TH ANNUAL MANTRA-THON FOR WORLD PEACE AND HEALING
Dear Sangha and Friends,
On behalf of our precious lama Tulku Orgyen Rinpoche, we would like to thank all of you who participated, from near and far, in the 11th Annual Mantra-Thon for World Peace and Healing, which focused on the practice of the Chenrezig sadhana and recitation of the Six-Syllable Mantra of compassion, Om Mani Peme Hung.
This year's events were conducted over the most holy first 15 days Saga Dawa. Rinpoche initiated the Mantra-Thon with teachings on Bodhicitta, he bestowed the Bodhisattva Vow on two occasions, led a one-day Nyung Ne intensive, presided over Guru Rinpoche Tsog, and led us in two Buddha Shakyamuni pujas and a Mani Kulwa (call-and response chanting of the Six-Syllable Mantra).
Tulku Orgyen Rinpoche has said on many occasions that, "not a single mantra recited is ever wasted." We all took part in so many meritorious activities, including the accumulation of Mani Mantras, and we should have no doubt that our sincere efforts will bear sweet karmic fruits for the benefit of ourselves and innumerable sentient beings. Now, it gives us great joy to report that as a result of all of our concentrated efforts during the Mantra-Thon,
we were able to collectively recite Om Mani Peme Hung more than 2,029,250 times!
What a great achievement to exceed our goal with such busily engaged lives. It shows our devotion to our precious lamas, the Dharma, and the welfare of others!
Again, thank you for being part of the Mantra-Thon. For now, let us re-dedicate our merit for the long life of Tulku Orgyen P'huntsok Rinpoche and Ven. Bhakha Tulku Rinpoche, H.H. Dudjom Rinpoche Yangsi, Sey Gyanata Rinpoche (the Yangsi of Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche), H.H. Penor Rinpoche Yangsi, and all our precious teachers, especially H.H. the Dalai Lama, who will soon turn 87; to all those who were named as beneficiaries in our prayer lists during the retreat; to health, peace and prosperity the world over; and to the complete and perfect Enlightenment of all beings!
Next year, we will hold our 12th Mantra-Thon for World Peace and Healing by performing the special Rigdzin Dupa (Guru Rinpoche) drupchod of the Dudjom Tersar.
From the Chenrezig Sadhana of Thangtong Gyalpo:
DAK NI KYE ZHING KYE WA T'HAM CHE DU
May I myself, through all my existences,
CHEN RE ZIK DANG DZE PA TS'UNG PA YIY
Act in the same manner as Chenrezig.
MA DAK ZHING GI DRO NAM DRÖL WA DANG
By this means may all beings be liberated from the impure realms,
SUNG CHHOK YIK DRUK CHHOK CHUR GYAY PAR SHOK
And may the most perfect sound of the six syllable mantra spread in the ten directions.
